We at MoveSmarter, LLC and MoveSmarter Health Corp ("MoveSmarter", "we", "us" or "our") are driven to provide a quantitative, analytical approach for Your movement activities. To do that, we use innovative technology that captures and saves synchronized movement data from our wearables with video and audio. We take your privacy very seriously, and in everything we do, we are committed to protecting it. This section ("Privacy Policy") will help explain the personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") that we gather when you use our mobile application ("Application"), any of the products you purchase from us ("Products"), all services we provide, as well as through other interactions with us (together, all of the foregoing are referred to as the "Service"). 


We commit:

  • To collect only information that will help improve your MoveSmarter experience and our Service. And nothing more.

  • To never sell your data.

  • To present a clear privacy policy.

Why We Request Access to Background Location

MoveSmarter Health requests access to background location only during active outdoor exercise sessions initiated by the user. This access is essential for recording accurate exercise data, such as displaying distance and speed- core features of the app that support both patient self-monitoring and remote clinical oversight.

We do not collect location data passively or for any unrelated purposes such as advertising or tracking outside of a workout session.

Background location access is specifically required to allow patients to:

  • Record complete and uninterrupted exercise sessions, even when the phone screen is off.

  • Place their phone in a pocket or running armband without interrupting route tracking.

  • Multitask during exercise—for example, listen to music, message someone, or switch to another app—without stopping the session or losing location accuracy.

Without background access, patients would be forced to keep the app’s aerobics screen open for the entire duration of their activity, which is not practical or user-friendly, especially for patients in recovery or those following long walking or rehabilitation sessions.

We are transparent:

  • Background location is requested only while the user is actively exercising outdoors.

  • We use a runtime permission prompt, and location tracking is active only during a session.

  • We clearly explain this during the onboarding process and in our privacy policy, which is always accessible in the app’s settings.


Request to Delete Your User and Account Information

If you wish to delete your profile and data, please let your physician know and go to the "Settings" page in the Application, and inside "Personal Information" select "Delete My Account".


Application Monitoring and Error Reporting (Mobile Applications – iOS and Android)

To ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our mobile application on iOS and Android devices, we use Sentry, a third-party application monitoring and error tracking service.


Purpose of Processing

Sentry is used strictly for the following purposes:

  • Detecting, analyzing, and resolving application crashes and errors

  • Monitoring application performance and stability

  • Improving functionality and user experience

  • Identifying and mitigating technical or security issues

We do not use Sentry for advertising purposes, marketing profiling, or behavioral tracking unrelated to application diagnostics.

Categories of Data Collected

When an error, crash, or performance event occurs within the Application, certain technical and diagnostic information may be automatically transmitted to Sentry. Such information may include:

  • Device manufacturer, model, and type

  • Operating system and version (iOS / Android)

  • Application version and build number

  • IP address (which may be truncated or anonymized where appropriate)

  • Crash logs, stack traces, and diagnostic reports

  • Performance data (e.g., transaction times and API response times)

  • General device configuration data (such as language, time zone, and screen resolution)

  • Anonymous identifiers necessary for debugging and session correlation

This information is limited to what is reasonably necessary for debugging and performance monitoring.


Data Minimization and Protection

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information collected through Sentry. Where possible, we configure Sentry to:

  • Avoid the intentional collection of sensitive personal data

  • Exclude user-generated content unless necessary for debugging

  • Apply data minimization and anonymization practices


Data Retention

Diagnostic data collected through Sentry is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above and in accordance with our internal data retention policies.


Third-Party Processing

Sentry acts as a service provider, processing data on our behalf. Data collected through Sentry is subject to Sentry’s own security and privacy practices.


User Acknowledgment

By installing and using the Application on an iOS or Android device, you acknowledge and agree that technical and diagnostic data may be collected and processed for the purposes described above.
